My work in a kindergarten

Hello everyone!

I am Tuğçe from Turkey. As you may know, I am one of the 'new' volunteers that came to the beautiful Pułtusk this year and I'll be staying until the end of July. I am working in Przedszkole Miejskie nr 4, with disabled and non-disabled children. So far, I am loving my project and my daily job in the kindergarten. I can say creating a good relationship with the children was really important for me and I am happy to say that I managed to do that.
I work from 9am to 3 in the afternoon. Usually, we start the day with a lesson. The kids are learning the Polish alphabet and the numbers. I help them with their assignments during the lesson.

After the lesson, they usually have free time and they draw or play with each other. Later we have lunch and I try to make an activity with them after lunch (for instance recently, I taught them how to create paper plate snowmen and Santa Claus to decorate the kindergarten) or we watch a movie. Somedays, they have English classes. I also try to help the kids, as well as the teacher.

I love working in the kindergarten! For me, the best side of working there is to know the Polish culture and traditions. Everyday is a new day for me to learn new things about Poland and I absolutely adore that. 😊

But as much as I love learning about Poland and its customs, I am also happy to get a chance to make everyone in the kindergarten discover Turkish culture. In the kindergarten with Sylwia, I presented Turkish culture and traditions. I think It was as useful for the kids as it was fun!
I did my presentation wıth the help of Sylwia
Before the presentation, with the children in my class, I baked a Turkish cake called revani. I certainly loved cooking with them. It was so much fun and during the presentation, I told them about the famous Turkish cuisine, our traditions and my city 'İzmir', before dancing together. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did!

Güle güle,

Tuğçe
