Cześć ! W piątek 14 sierpnia odbyły się warsztaty kulinarne w ramach projektu "Skosztuj świata", które poprowadziła Elena. W menu zagościła m.in. sałatka Winegret, Solyanka, Ikra kabaczkowa i Oladi.

V Przegląd Twórczości Abstynenckiej ŚWIT

 
                                      August was announced the month of sobriety in Pultusk.
     On Saturday, the 1-st of August, we participated in retrospective of creation organized by the Association of Pułtusk Sobriety "Dawn". Some of our local volunteers - Sylwia and Alicja -  were helping me to orgаnize space for children. 

     From 14 p.m. to 18 p.m. Sylwia was painting faces, cats, dogs, butterflies, spiderman and zombi were the most popular among children. Elena was making dogs, giraffes, rabbits, swans from baloons and Russian dools from napkins. 
     During the afternoon every child had a chance to participate in painting competition, in the end everybody have got their prizes. 

      The atmosphere was a picnic, the territory near landing stage was full of people. There were a lot of attractions for children and adults. During whole day we were listening a live music, have got free soup and sausages and were swiming in the gandolla :-)

Vacation in library

     This July we were actively cooperating with the library im. Joachima Lelewela, which works with little readers every summer, organizing different activities and special plastic workshop.

   
      Sunny Saturday 27-th of June we were celebrating The Day of Smurfs. Around 70 children with their parents took part in this holiday. There were a lot of interesting attractions and activities waiting for them. The place covered by carpet of grass behind the library was divided in some parts, where every Smurf can to play with children or to share their own talent. For example, Elena was Painter who tried somehow to paint different animals faces. Every Smurf even had their own white hat :-)
Everybody have got tasty ice cream, had a possibility to make a photo with Smurf photo buds.

     Except that our workcamp volunteers  spent one day with our little readers. They have prepared for this day presentations about their countries, coloring books and songs. Mariana from Ukraine gave us a dance class (very similar to Polish kaczuszki).  Jo from Korea also got lessons in dance, but this time to the well-known song "Gangnam Style".

     And our EVS volunteer Elena spent two weeks working with children too. Vacation in library lasted only two hours every day. In general librarian in children sector Justyna hold different interesting workshops somehow connected with reading and books. We colored  scenes from famous books or tried to paint by our own, made different animals from paper. Children took part in a lesson about Russia with making paper matryoshki and dolls from napkins. 

     Hope library will continue to work with our organization and even will invite EVS volunteers :-)

Workcamp "Na Przedwiośniu"

     The hardest and the best experience during my EVS and may be whole life I've got as a leader of workcamp in Warsaw. Only one week before the girl who was responsible for translation changed her plans because of some personal reasons and I was invited to this place. Actually I didn't have any experience in the field of working with disable people and my Polish (as English :-)) are not the best, but I agreed, because it seemed like a beginning of something new, of new adventure.

     On 1-st of July my coordinator  Sylwia organized a short preparatory meeting for future camp leaders in Pultusk and Warsaw, where we've known about workcamps in general, about different typical problems and ways of solution, methods of cohesion people and so on. We even had a task to build a tower from long spaghetti, 1 metr of duct tape and thread and one peace of marshmallow on the top. The main aim of this exercise was to see how we will work in a team and evaluate the results.

     On 3-rd of July me and my friend and another camp leader Giorgia (our EVS volunteer in Warsaw, who work with disable people in Odrebno) visited social care center "Na Przedwiośniu".
This center is situated near forest and consists from one big rehabilitation building fo laying and sitting wards, two hostels for more independent people and one workshop building. The staff take care of  wards from their childhood and provide them different workshops where they can improve their professional skills as sewing, working with wood, plastic things, ceramic. Exept this they have a music, computer and cooking classes.
     On 5-th of June  we tried to organize our living place while we were waiting for our volunteers. We made a colorful peace of paper with our working timetable, with Polish (most important) words, with examples how to spend good our free time and big poster with word "Welcome" in many languages.
   

  
     Our workcamp consisted from volunteers from 7 countries: me from Russia, Giorgia and Francesco from Italy, Encarna, Rafa and Ruben from Spain, Maria from Belarus, Heesoo from South Korea, Beste and Ezgi from Turkey and Claudia from Honduras. During two weeks we were building a good team and friendly relation with the staff and wards of this center. The main part of our work was to spend time with patients during different workshops and to help them. But, as you know, you can't do anything without initiative. So every day after lunch we were organizing typical dances from Spain, Italy, Turkey and Russia.

 

     On Friday, 3-th of July, the staff with wards were showing us Polish dances - Polonez and kaczuszki, the band "Będzie głośno" was singing some songs of their own, also we were playing some traditional Polish games all together. To make this day intercultural volunteers were singing songs in Spanish, Italian, Turkish and English.

     Except that we hold two cooking workshops: our Spanish team were cooking tortilla and Turkish - rice pudding.

     During that two weeks we were walking a lot in the forest, visiting cinema together, singing and talking about life. This workcamp gave a lot of things not only to us, but to our wards too. They needed our company, our energy, our friendship I can say that we made a good job in this direction, we are good friends. 
     In the end of our workcamp was very hard to say good buy. Our wards have gave us the address of social care center to send each other letters and postcards. We organized one big party with games and dances. For example, game with water balloons. Our wards had to take one flag and to throw water balloon to the volunteer from the country which this flag is representing. 

     
     During that two weeks we were walking a lot in the forest, visiting cinema together, singing and talking about life. This workcamp gave a lot of things not only to us, but to our wards too. They needed our company, our energy, our friendship. I can say that we made a good job in this direction, we are good friends.

Powiatowe Forum Organizacji Edukacyjnych

Saturday 14th of June, sunny day, around 30ºC, and some people starting to mount the tents and organizing the tables, thats how it started.

We arrived at the backyard of the library at around 10:00 in the morning, as the main event started at 13:00 we had 3 hours to prepare everything, it was the first big event organized by the organization this year in Pultusk, first we decided the place where we were going to put the different tents and where we were going to organize the games and the competitions for people who would like to come.

In total we were 8 organizations taking part on it, at the beggining for them there was a welcome breakfast, cookies, tea, fruits, and cold water, to start the day with energy!

In the picnic part, the organizations taking part were: Stowarzyszenie Centrum Miedzynarodowej Wymiany Mlodziezy i Wolontariatu, doing bubbles, animals with balloons, paiting faces, organizing different competitions, and running a fast cooking workshop. Fundacja Centrum Zrownawozonego Rozwoju "Horyzonty", that was doing an exhibition about global education. Fundacja "Przyszlosc w nauce" was doing a chemical show. Stowarzyszenie Cech Rzemiosl Roznych i Przedsiebiorczosci w Pultusku. Stowarzyszenie Towarzystwo Naukowe "Educare" that was doing animals from balloons and figures from plastiline. Humanistyczny Uniwersytet dla Dzieci that were doing bracelets, origami and talking about egypt. Stowarzyszenie "Razem dla Jedynki" (przy Gimnazjum nr1) 3 students with materials about the activities of the association.

At 13:00 everything started. Aleksandra was doing interviews to whoever wanted to talk about their organization, as the main event started more and more people were arriving to the place to spend their time with us and to get to know the different participants who were taking part in the piknik. in the back part of the tents we had a few volunteers doing different things with the people who were coming close to them, Elena and Natalia were making different animals, flowers, "things" using large balloons, as well as teaching to the people how to do it. Hugo was making giang bubbles along with Natalia from time to time as well as organizing some competitions or other games for people who were approaching to where he was.

Together with the various activities from members of FIYE there was some volunteers like Emil, who was playing music and Iga who was in charge to take photos during the event. As stated before there were people making figures with plastiline in the University tent and close to eat and as well in the empty space in front of the tent was the science club showing to the people some experiments.

As the time was passing the people were going to the different stands and getting to know a bit of everything, the best part was that there were always new people coming to the event, giving it the effect we wanted to give, so more and more people from Pultusk were knowing about the organizations and what they can do with and for them.

When the even was almost over it was the time of three competitions for kids, with rewards, and a time to show a bit of cooking, Hugo was preparing Patatas Ali-Oli and Tomato and Oregan Salad, and Elena made bliny both Salty and Sweet, and the games we used for the competitions were, Limbo, a game in which you had to move water from one bucket to another and one where you had to eat apples that were in a rope without using your hands.

On a side note, to make the bubbles, as people were asking, you need per 10 parts of Destillated Water 1 part of Fairy and a teaspoon of Gliceryne.

11 czerwca - Koncert na zakończenie roku szkolnego organizowane przez szkoły muzycznej Yamaha. Dzieci, młodzież i dorośli z programu gitarowego. 

13 czerwca - Wieczór jubileuszowy 100-lecie kina. W programie - wręczenie nagród laureatom konkursu literackiego, koncert zespołu NIEMY MOVIE muzyka i dubbing na żywo do filmu "Alicja w krainie czarów". 

13 czerwca - VII Ogólnopolski Konkurs Kulinarny „Kuchnia Polska Wczoraj i Dziś” . Dla tych, którzy lubią jeść :-) 

13 czerwca -  Piknik rodzinny Gry i zabawy sportowe, konkursy dla dzieciaków.

14 czerwca -  Festiwal Młodzieżowych Orkiestr Dętych. Dla sympatyków muzyki.

17 - 21 czerwca - Rajd Szlakiem Żołnierzy Wyklętych. Wykłady, rekonstrukcja historyczna, wędrówka z mapą, terenowe gry tematyczne.

26 czerwca - jeszcze jeden Koncert na zakończenie roku szkolnego - młodzież i dorośli z programów keyboardowych, saksofonowego i wokalu.

27 czerwca - „Światowy Dzień Smerfa” - gry i zabawy plenerowe dla dzieci i dorosłych, piknik rodzinny.

Mamy nadzieję, że każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie.

Children's festival in Helenów

       1-st of July is a traditional holiday - International Children's Day: the General Assembly of UN suggested that the universal celebration of the World Day of the child will serve to strengthen solidarity and cooperation between the nations. Traditionally  there are different activities for children and charity events during this day. 

          2-nd of July our partner organization  Stowarzyszenie Promocji Wolontariatu took part in celebration of  Children's day in Helenów. And we as a volunteers, of course, was invited. During preparation we proposed to take our photobuds to let children and there parents to make interesting photos with hats, lips, mustache and so on or with big red heart, which we was making with big love for St. Valentines day. Besides we bought some paints for painting faces.

           At around 10 we started. Our Warsaw volunteers prepared the table with paper and paints, where children spend their time drawing. We put there our photobuds and began to wait, if some will come or not. Actually there were a lot of organizations, which provided different activities as games, carousels. We worked near big stage, where ware different performance. 

           Later we found that no one can paint faces. We let one of Warsaw volunteers starts and then became more brave to paint ugly faces :-)

 

          And we worked 3 hours non-stop painting butterflys, cats, dogs. tigers. Right now me and Claudia from Honduras are pro! 

          After break we came back and spend some time on the grass listening music. More photo for you:

Voluntary Festival in Ciechanów

      The last days of spring, that were very warm and windy, we spend presenting out organization. On 30-th of May we were invited to the Voluntary Festival in Ciechanów   by Stowarzyszenie Ciechanowski Wolontariat. 

       The main idea was to present FIYE for young and not people from Ciechanów  and to show them different opportunities to go abroad and work there as a volunteer. 

     During our trip to Ciechanów weather was wonderful, but at the place, when we found organizers of the festiwal and start to prepare our working space, the strong wind began and blow away all our staff. 

           We wanted to create a little cafe, where everyone interested in voluntary service or workcamps can ask our coordinators Sylwia and Grzegosz about it and take advices, drinking limonade and eating sweet-stuff. But it was hard to realize this idea because of place (too small), wind (every time blowing away our poster, cups, flags and so on) and absence of young people. In spite of that, we told with people, who was going near our tent, showed them our chronicle with photos. 

      We was there about 3 hours meeting people, trying to become acquainted with different organization, giving interview, but the weather became more and more horrible and we decided to go. Anyway it was good day :-)
